Message From The Principal

June 21, 2010

Dear Friends:

A few short weeks ago, we celebrated as186 students from Messmer High School, Messmer Preparatory Catholic School and St. Rose and St. Leo Catholic School graduated and officially became Messmer alumni. During our graduation practices we spoke about the responsibilities of being Messmer alumni, including doing for others as others have done for you. I am proud of their accomplishments and am confident that these graduates will use their Messsmer education to strive for a better world.

This year, I am completing twenty-two years of service to Messmer Catholic Schools. It is amazing how quickly that time has passed.  More amazing is the opportunity to have been a part of Messmer’s mission in transforming lives for over two decades.

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that I will not be returning to Messmer as an Administrator next school year, but it is with an excited spirit that I have accepted the position of Principal of Marquette University High School (MUHS), a Catholic school in the Jesuit tradition. I believe the Holy Spirit has led me to this new challenge and role. Most of you are aware that I am an alumnus of MUHS and have been educated in the Jesuit tradition through high school, college, and graduate school. This new position offers a unique opportunity for me to use my education and experiences and integrate that knowledge and understanding in a leadership role at MUHS.

It will be very difficult to leave my Messmer home and family. Naturally, I will miss you, our dedicated Messmer alumni and friends. I will miss my generous and talented colleagues. And I will especially miss our wonderful students and parents. My family and I plan to remain involved at Messmer and will continue our support of its important mission in education.

I thank you for your continued commitment to Messmer Catholic Schools. It is through your support and prayers that miracles occur on a daily basis. Messmer will continue its tradition of providing a high quality, Catholic education to the youth of Milwaukee for generations to come. I will continue to pray for you and ask that you pray for me during this transition in my life.

God's blessings,

Jeff Monday
